Team check-in
This is an authorized classroom simulation. All hosts, scans, accounts, and files exist only inside this lab.
Work in teams of two. Enter both names to open your case file.
- Team member 1: terminal operator.
- Team member 2: CyberChef analyst.
If you need a second attempt, switch roles.
Names stay in this browser and in your PDF report. Nothing is uploaded and there is no tracking.
Decode the start key
Tucker's firewall encoded the key that unlocks your mission briefing. We intercepted this message:
Steps
- Copy the intercepted message.
- Open CyberChef.
- Paste it into Input.
- Add the From Base64 operation.
- Copy the decoded key.
- Enter it here.
A wrong key costs nothing. Only the timer uses up an attempt.
Mission briefing
Kramerica Tech has misplaced the secret crab bisque recipe from Kramer's favorite soup restaurant. Your authorized recovery team must identify the server, locate its SSH service, sign in as root, and recover the recipe before the security timer expires.
You have five minutes per attempt. After your first and second unsuccessful attempts, you must wait one minute before trying again. If all three attempts expire, Tucker's Network Firewall catches you.

Good to know
- root is the simulated administrator account used for this exercise.
- The target is kramericatech.com, a fictional name. Nothing here ever contacts a real server.
- The encoded server credential is in
/home/analyst/intercepted_credentials.txton your workstation. - Each retry brings a brand-new server address, port, password and flag. Switch roles.
Objectives
The timer starts when you press the button, not before. Read first.
Mission console
Terminal
Enter runs a command. Up and Down recall earlier commands. Ctrl+L clears. Ctrl+C cancels a prompt.
Time expired. Cooling down.
Use the minute to talk through what worked. Switch roles: the terminal operator becomes the CyberChef analyst.
Your next attempt starts with a brand-new start key, server address, port, password and flag.
Recipe recovered. Mission complete.
Your team slipped past the firewall and retrieved Kramer's crab bisque recipe. Soup is safe.
Download your report first. A new team session replaces this one on this browser.
Tucker's Network Firewall caught you
The firewall has logged your team and is now having a very stern conversation with the soup. The crab bisque recipe stays hidden.
See your teacher if you want to try again. This lab does not offer an unlimited restart.
